Here are some strategies that you can use to manage the tsunami of food heading your way.

Staying fit for Christmas is about to make some easy healthy decisions:

🎄Eat Before Heading Out
First, it is best that you eat something before heading out to visits, trips or family dinners. By doing so, you will no longer be tempted to eat a lot or overindulge yourself since you have already eaten.

🎁Select The Treats
Make sure to select the treats that you eat in a wise manner. You should choose something that you can only enjoy during the holiday season and not something that is readily available all the time.

🎄Avoid Skipping Meals
Skipping on meals is not a good idea, because you will only be forced to eat more later.
Don’t skip meals, especially breakfast! Even though it can be tempting to skip on certain meals, believing that it will make up for the treats you consumed in the previous day, don’t do it because it will only lead to counterproductive results.

🎁Drink With Moderation
It is best to regulate your drinking since alcohol, coke or other juices will only add more calories to the ones you already eaten!

🎄Be Active
You should still perform your fitness routine whenever possible and if you can’t do that, simply walk more, park your car some distance away from the store or just use the stairs!

🎁Enjoy Yourself

Es un hecho que la Navidad supone para muchas personas algo de descontrol sobre sus rutinas y estilo de vida, en cuanto a calidad-cantidad de alimento, ejercicio físico y descanso. Sin embargo, desde mi más humilde opinión, creo que es una fecha más en el calendario, que debemos tomar de forma relajada para conseguir disfrutarla al máximo rodead@s de nuestros seres queridos, sin perjudicar a nuestra salud FISICA y/o MENTAL.

1️⃣ En primer lugar pensemos fríamente cuantos DIAS CLAVE HAY: 24, 25, 31, 1, 5 y 6. En concreto 6 días!! Este año además, se cuelan en fin de semana, lo que significa que el resto de días, podrás mantener un ritmo relativamente normal en cuanto a tus hábitos de comida, ejercicio y descanso.
2️⃣ Si eres el anfitrión/a, planifica un menú repleto de opciones sanas y nutritivas. Hay mil ideas en las redes, pero si aún así te cuesta encontrarlas, estoy dispuesta a ayudarte.
3️⃣ En caso de que seas el invitad@, da prioridad a la comida de verdad, y evita excederte con ultra procesados y mezclas poco saludables (Grasas de baja calidad y azúcares refinados).
4️⃣ Por otro lado, está bien que disfrutes sin prohibiciones, son fechas ocasionales, y la salud mental también entra en juego estos días. Te recomiendo que tomes lo que te apetece, pero moderes las raciones de aquello que sabes no es del todo bueno para tu salud. Quédate satisfech@ y evitarás pensar en comida cuando no tengas hambre real.
5️⃣ Come consciente, sin distracciones y evita excesos descontrolados.
6️⃣ En cuanto a la bebida, no te voy a decir que el alcohol es bueno para tu salud, pero mejor una copa de vino, que 1l de refresco azucarado que tomarás como si fuera agua.
7️⃣ Por supuesto entrena!! Sigue con tu planificación de siempre, con el deporte que practiques, y si puedes, aumenta tu NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis), o actividades que realizas durante el día, no consideradas deportivas.

Chega aquela época do ano em há 2 problemas 🙈

1) Vou comer tanto doce, tantaaa comida que em janeiro vou precisar fazer dieta

2) Sou vegana/ vegetariana/ até já como saudável, mas no natal nunca sei o que vou comer!!

Vou resolver esses dois problemas com dois workshops de natal saudável, vegan, natural, glúten free e sem açúcares refinados

O primeiro é já este sábado, dia 11.12 pelo zoom

O segundo é na semana seguinte, dia 18.12 e é presencial ( será mais que um workshop, será um encontro de pessoas que partilham comida deliciosa sem precisar ficar com peso na consciência!

Christmas is well on its way and even though I’m so excited I know it can be a hard time for many…the thought of all that indulgent food can cause a lot of anxiety for people so here are my simple gut tips for eating well over the festive period…

❌ Don’t skip meals thinking you’re “saving” calories – chances are you will be so hungry when you arrive at the event / meal you’ll actually over eat as you’ll miss your stomachs “full” signal

❌ Don’t restrict food – it can be tempting when you see all the sugar, chocolates, pastries and puddings but restricting yourself will be a mental battle as you’re missing out! Enjoy a slice of the Yule log and then move on with your day!

✅ Get outside and go for daily walks! Wrap up warm (if you’re in the UK!) and take a stroll after eating, not only is this good for your mind and mental health, it will also keep your body moving and help reduce bloating!

✅ Try making your own food! If you are anxious about all the processed foods and sweets, making your own treats is a good solution. You can switch to wholemeal flour for more fibre and tailor the ingredients to your liking!
